Our R&D HUB
Located on a site in Sicily, we regroup all activities related to marketing a new product: from the conception, the field experimentation to support our claims, to all necessary documentation we prepare for our technical partners.
Our laboratory is the centre of advanced innovation in the field of soil generation and plant health. We work in co-operation with major research centres in Italy and in Europe in order to keep innovating in the fields of Science & Technology.
We collaborate in regional as well as European projects such as HORIZON Europe on subjects such as the substitution of harmful chemicals or the adaptation to climate change.
Our DEVELOPMENT activity
Any new solution coming out of research is tested internally in greenhouse and open field condition, to validate its effectiveness in farming situation and the impact on plant, soil and environment.
Over the years, itaka developed its own competences on understanding properties of natural compounds, and know-how on their evaluation.
OUR PRODUCTION HUB
ITAKA has developed internal quality standards for the selection of ingredients entering the composition of its products, in order to ensure their performance in the field.
Increasingly, Itaka has gathered significant know-how on specific fields:
- The physical-chemical properties of natural ingredients.
- The processing, composition and formulation of natural products in order to keep the properties of the components unaltered.
- The knowledge necessary to obtain patents and registrations in Europe.
SUPPORT to growers
We support our customers, growers and distributors by publicising scientific articles directly or in collaboration with researchers, organise dissemination venues to present our results.
We share our experience in the field with agronomists or provide consultancy to growers and supply chain on crop specific programmes.
